The Strange Engineering Pro Race Rear Carbon Brake Kit was developed to satisfy one of the most demanding and competitive racers in NHRA history, Warren Johnson. After not being satisfied with other braking systems in the industry, WJ approached Strange Engineering to develop a carbon brake system to meet his stringent standards. After intensive field testing and WJ's valued input, the result was a carbon system that surpassed his expectations. Strange Pro Race Carbon Brake Kits have evolved beyond its competition and are widely used by past, present and future World Champions.

The 4 Piston Ultra Caliper incorporates a unique two piece piston design developed by Wilwood Engineering for Formula One cars. Each piston is comprised of two separate pieces, with a special ceramic insert encapsulated by the piston halves. The ceramic piston design eliminates heat shields, which in extreme conditions proved to warp and cause brake drag if not periodically replaced. Besides eliminating the heat shields, the ceramic inserts prevented the boiling of brake fluid when the rotors exceeded red hot and became white hot. The Ultra Caliper incorporates a bore size of 1.750" for optimal feel and superior braking.

The 11" (outside diameter) carbon rotors are .50" smaller than other kits on the market. The smaller rotor generates more heat than the 11.50", providing peerless braking for Pro and Sportsman racers. The 11" carbon disk also provides the lightest rear disc weight on the market at a mere 1.68 lbs. Each brake pad has been slotted to allow carbon dust to escape, improving rotor and pad longevity.

The entire assembled rear carbon brake kit (pair) weighs only 14.95 lbs. Each disc weighs a meager 1.68 lbs. and when mounted on the rotor mount, still only weighs 3.25 lbs. Each carbon pad only weighs 0.20 pounds.

Ultra Calipers, Billet Aluminum Caliper Mounts, Mounting Hardware, 11" Carbon Rotors and Slotted Carbon Brake Pads.

Available with Strang's 5/8 Rear Wheel Stud Conversion and every kit featuring PHR's stainless brake line kit, this is a complete solution to the biggest and baddest supras braking problems.

5/8 Rear Wheel Stud conversion requires machining of hub. A good local machine shop should be able to do this for you. PHR charges $200 for this process and you will need to send us your hub. Please contact PHR directly for this service.

This kit also fits Lexus SC300, SC400. Should also fit Lexus 1991-2004 Lexus GS models as well as all IS300 models, but we have not confirmed fitment.
